“My International Studies major enabled me to take courses across academic disciplines and uniquely tailor my coursework to my personal and professional interests. This included classes in the humanities and social sciences, Arabic language, and coursework for minors in environmental studies and business. During my time at Michigan, I studied and researched abroad in Italy, Kenya, and Ghana. The interdisciplinary and globally-focused approach enabled by the U-M International Studies major gave me skills to understand issues from multiple perspectives. This has been an invaluable skill in my work as a climate policy analyst at a DC-based clean energy think tank, the Energy Futures Initiative.”
