Kyung Hyun Kim is Professor of East Asian Languages and Literatures and of Visual Studies at the University of California, Irvine. He is author of Virtual Hallyu: Korean Cinema of the Global Era (2011) and The Remasculinization of Korean Cinema (2004). He is also the coeditor of The Korean Popular Culture Reader (2014)—all of the books published by Duke University Press. He has published a Korean-language novel entitled In Search of Lost G (Ireo beorin G-rul chajaso) that depicts sensitively the road travel of a 50-year old Korean single mom in Kangnam who travels to Massachusetts to find her 17-year old son, Gee-hoon.
