Learn about the art and application of handmade Korean paper (hanji) with artist Aimee Lee, who will share her collection of handmade paper and show participants how to work with this versatile material in hands-on activities of joomchi (paper fusing) and jiseung (paper weaving) to make a beautiful bracelet to take home. UMMA Curator of Asian Art will provide an introduction to Korean art and painting traditions in a visit to UMMA's gallery of Korean Art.
