About
Jennifer Lund is the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Center for Middle Eastern and North African Studies (CMENAS) and Outreach Coordinator for the International Institute. She is responsible for planning and implementing programs and activities to serve K-12 school educators and communities locally, regionally, and nationally. Previously, she served as an outreach coordinator for the African Studies Program at Indiana University where she worked on Title VI grant initiatives that included designing curriculum with African content, developing new community partnerships, and facilitating teacher training workshops. Jennifer holds a Ph.D. in Literacy, Culture, and Language Education from the School of Education at Indiana University. She specialized in international and comparative education and her dissertation explored a teacher professional development program focused on project-based learning in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. With an MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Michigan State University, Jennifer has worked as a K-8 teacher of multilingual learners in Wayne County, Michigan and has taught academic English skills for over 15 years in multiple higher education settings in the United States, Thailand, and France. She also serves on the Advisory Board of Malembe Rise, a non-profit organization working on educational development in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
