American Culture graduate student, Pau Nava, presented part of their dissertation research in Oaxaca this summer. The funding for this travel was through the Institute for Humanities.
Pau presented some dissertation research via a poster session at this year's Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social (MALCS) Summer Institute held in Unidad de Extensión Universitaria, UNAM:OAXACA. The title of their paper was "From Morelia to Chicago: Midwestern Mexicandidad Through a Purépecha Fountain in Chicago Public Place". They had presented an earlier version of this dissertation research in February as part of the 2024 Newberry Consortium in American Indian and Indigenous Studies (NCAIS) Graduate Student Conference.
Congratulations, Pau!
