Keynote Speaker for Arab Heritage Month at the University of Michigan
As a part of the calendar of Arab Heritage Month Events, Professor Rashid Khalidi will be the Keynote Speaker.
Rashid Khalidi is the Edward Said Professor of Arab Studies at Columbia University. Khalidi's research focuses on the history of Modern Middle Eastern studies. He is the author of Brokers of Deceit: How the U.S. Has Undermined Peace in the Middle East and The Iron Cage: The Story of the Palestinian Struggle for Statehood among many others. We strongly believe that Professor Khalidi's background is well suited to appropriately address the theme of Arab Heritage Month, Yallah N3ish [Let Live]: Sustaining the Arab Diaspora, in a way that inspires, encourages and motivates our students to strive toward promoting a diverse campus environment.
