Gallery talk begins at 6pm
In 2011, New York based artist Adam Abel began traveling to Palestine for his latest works. PALESTINE INTERRUPTED, is a nine-channel video installation that uses narratives from Palestine to disrupt narratives about Palestine. QALQILYA is a feature documentary film currently in production that tells the story about a group of Palestinian youth who are skating, performing beatbox, hip hop and parkour in Qalqilya – a town in the West Bank that is surrounded by Israel’s Wall.
Abel’s works in photography, video and film have been exhibited throughout New York and internationally, including shows at Galapagos Art Space, Rush Arts Gallery, 3rd Ward, Photoville, Broadway Gallery, Parsons, The New School for Design and the Sydney College of the Arts.
