William D. Taylor is a joint doctoral student in Political Science and Public Policy. His work applies novel computational methods to the study of human rights broadly construed, with a current emphasis on oversight and misconduct in North American criminal legal systems. Since 2025, William has worked as a data science fellow with the Human Rights Data Analysis Group.
Before attending U-M, William worked as an analyst with the UNC School of Government Criminal Justice Innovation Lab, applying quantitative and computational techniques to projects concerning bail reform, alternative responses to behavioral health crises, and criminal record clearance. He holds a B.S. in computer science, with a second major in political science, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
