Why did you decide to do Michigan in Washington?

I've always wanted to live in DC, and MIW gives me the chance to experience it firsthand before making the move after graduation. It’s also the perfect opportunity to gain experience in DC politics and build connections with people I wouldn’t have met otherwise.

What do you do during a typical day at your internship?

In a typical day at my internship, I collaborate with the insights team to review ongoing projects for our clients. My role involves drafting survey and focus group questions, analyzing data, and developing strategic recommendations. Additionally, I conduct social listening among DC insiders to gauge stakeholder perspectives on key issues, helping our clients better understand and navigate the political landscape.

What's something that you're proud of that you've done at your internship so far?

I’m proud of the data analysis and survey research I’ve done that has gone directly to clients. It’s great to see my work making an impact on deliverables, and I feel like I’m making a real contribution to the team’s efforts.

How has your skill set evolved or changed since you began working on this internship?

I've gotten much better at pulling insights from data and using them to drive decision-making and strategy.

What is one fun activity that you have done since being in D.C.?

Going to Georgetown with my friends!
