Ju Bai's research interests concern institutionalism, especially institutional change and historical institutionalism, as well as state-society relations, with an empirical focus on the bureaucracy and the political tradition of model setting (shu dianxing) in China. Her dissertation aims to examine the evolution of this political practice in China through the analysis of historical materials. She seeks to develop a typology to explain how hierarchical interactions within model setting contribute to successful policy promotion and institutional development, as opposed to fostering nepotism and opportunism.

Wenling Wang's research focuses on Tibetan dialect phonetics and the development of multimodal corpus. As a scholar specializing in Tibetan studies, her interests span several disciplines, including computational linguistics, ethnic minority languages and literature, and second language acquisition. Her current research project centers on Tibetan language and literature.

Yuling Sun's research lies in Human-computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Supported Collaborative Work (CSCW), and Social Computing. Her current work primarily focuses on issues of human-AI/data interaction, particularly in aging, healthcare, education, urban governance, and rural revitalization. She adopts socio-technical approaches including qualitative, ethnographic, human-engaged computing, participatory design, crowdsourcing and others for better digital service. In addition, she has extensively collaborated with machine learning and AI researchers on various topics such as education, healthcare, aging and digital governance.
