U-M's International Institute is hosting the International Pavilion at the 5th Annual Ann Arbor Book Festival. In addition to a display of books selected by each of the II's centers, the following international-related activities are planned:
11:00-11:30 South Asian Storytelling and Sitar/Tabla Music
11:30-12:30 Capoeira Demonstration (U-M Brazilian Capoeira Club) & Samba
12:30-1:30 Chinese Opera Face Painting and Paper Cutting
2:00-3:00 Chinese Erhu Musician (Xiao Dong Wei)
3:00-4:00 International Arts & Crafts; Henna Hand Painting
3:15-4:00 International Folk Dancing (led by Sylvia Meloche, CREES/CES-EUC outreach coordinator)
4:15-5:00 Book Discussion with Sandy Tolan (Author, The Lemon Tree: An Arab, A Jew, and the Heart of the Middle East)
4:30-6:00 Calligraphy Bookmarks
