The project “Making African Art”: From African Independence and the Peace Corps to Civil Rights and the Cold War," spearheaded by AHHI steering committee members Raymond Silverman, Kelly Askew, and Laura De Becker, among others, explores the social and political milieu out of which the field of African art evolved. The project will result in both a scholarly monograph as well as a traveling exhibition.
