ASC is a co-sponsor for the exhibit "Power Contained: The Art of Authority in Central and West Africa," which will be on display at UMMA from August 19 to December 31. Laura de Becker, AHI steering committee member and UMMA curator for African Art, curated the exhibit, which showcases objects from UMMA's collection and loans to explore how authority was expressed in several historical African societies.
