Professor of Microbiology and Immunology Cheong-Hee Chang, who is a member of ASC's STEM-Africa Steering Committee, discusses her work in Uganda, where U-M and the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) collaborate in MUST’s new "Africa Center of Excellence for Pharm-Biotechnology and Traditional Medicine." Associate Professor of Natural Resources Rebecca Hardin, also a member of STEM-Africa's Steering Committee, comments on the value of engaged learning and U-M's Third Century grants, which included Africa-based projects in Gabon and Ghana.
