The major in Translation introduces students to techniques of translation and the importance of translation and interpreting in various disciplinary and professional settings (literary, social, political, legal, technological, medical, scientific, business, digital, etc.). Students learn about translation both as a process and a product, and explore skills for careers related to translation. While the Translation Major does not provide professional certification for translators, it will prepare students with a knowledge base and practical experience in translation appropriate for post-graduate certificate programs.
