Rachel discovered her summer internship at Oracle in an unexpected place—a random LinkedIn post featuring the “Top 10 Project Management Internships this Summer.” Seeing potential, she applied to all internships listed, demonstrating the importance of shooting your shot and searching for opportunities across platforms such as Handshake, LinkedIn, specialized job boards, and AI-powered resources.
Her proactive approach landed her a role as a project management intern in the revenue operations vertical. Throughout the summer, Rachel was staffed on diverse projects with multiple teams, including marketing, private equity, sales operations, and partner operations. Her main objective in these roles was to remain highly adaptable, constantly willing to learn new skills and quickly familiarize herself with new platforms to help drive each project to completion.
Reflecting on her experience, Rachel encourages students not to hesitate about applying to companies, even if they don't know anyone there. “Expand your network and always shoot your shot!” she advises. By embracing curiosity and resilience during both the internship search and in new professional environments, undergraduates can open more doors for growth, skill development, and connection.
