Foodies and farm fans - apply ecological principles to agricultural systems in this interdisciplinary class. Learn sustainable agricultural practices and concepts such as:
- soil health and conservation
- nutrient management
- cropping systems
- weed management
- pest management
Field trips include visits to local farms, community partners, and the UMBS garden and greenhouse. By the end of the class, you will understand how food systems can balance production goals with environmental resources, social and economic capital, and the needs of surrounding communities.
