About
Emily Ravenwood joined the UofM in 2019. She is the Manager of the Learning and Teaching Consultants, the Instructional Video group, and the BlueCorps consultants. LTC supports faculty in making the most pedagogically effective use of educational tools--everything from index cards to Canvas, from clickers to multimedia. LTC can work with faculty interested in active learning, flipping their classroom, team based learning, and other innovative pedagogical approaches, to help create the best possible educational experience for students. Instructional Video works with instructors to produce course-related multimedia, including demonstrations, how-tos, lectures, and more. Instructional Video's studio space includes a glassboard and professional quality set materials. BlueCorps consultants help students, staff, and faculty figure out any educational technology they may need to use, and specializes in helping beginners.
Emily was teaching faculty, and a website designer on the side, for 10 years before making the career shift to instructional design and ed-tech. Her MA (and ABD) is in English Language and Literature. Before coming to UofM, she worked for Rutgers’ Teaching and Learning with Technology office.
Emily did her undergraduate work at Kalamazoo College, and taught at Wittenberg University. The liberal arts are her home-town, just as much as Ann Arbor itself is, and working with LSA is a homecoming for her.
