The Science Learing Center (SLC) is very excited to introduce you to the newest member of the SLC professional staff team: Tutoring Program Manager, Amelia Parnis
Amelia joins the SLC with experience coordinating academic support programs in both K-12 and university settings since 2015. She has worked with Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction (SI) programs at Texas A&M University, Wayne State University, and Eastern Michigan University. In addition, she has enjoyed opportunities to teach undergraduate students and serve as an Academic Success Coach.
Amelia is passionate about equipping students with a deep understanding of how we learn and the specific strategies they'll need to be successful lifelong learners. She has earned a Bachelor of Science in English Literature and Master of Arts in Educational Leadership both from Eastern Michigan University, and she hopes to continue on to study Educational Neuroscience. We are elated to have Amelia and her extensive experience on our team!
