LSA General Academic Advising

The Newnan Academic Advising Center offers the following services: Academic Planning; Choosing a Major; Pre-Health, Pre-Law, and Pre-Business Advising; Individual Major Advising; General Studies Advising; Transferring to Another UM Unit; Peer Advising; Applying for Graduation.

Science Library

Use the great library resources that UM has to offer!

The Shapiro Science Library is one of the largest science libraries in the country with over 400,000 print volumes and numerous electronic resources available. The Library supports research and teaching in the fields of astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology, mathematics, natural resources, physics, and statistics.

Visit the Science Library on central campus where it occupies the 3rd and 4th floors of the Shapiro Building or visit it electronically by beginning your tour via the Shapiro Science Library's website.

The Shapiro Science Library offers research consultations for individuals or small groups by appointment or on a drop-in basis. To learn more about the consulting services offered in the Library, check out the Science Library Research Consultants page.

Graduate Student Instructors

Graduate Student Instructors (GSIs) affiliated with several introductory science courses hold weekly office hours in the SLC. During office hours GSIs are available to provide assistance to any science student. For further information or to view the schedule for the current term, click here
