About
George Tyler teaches a variety of courses in political theory. He is also the undergraduate academic advisor in the Department of Political Science. He is interested in modern to contemporary political thought. He focuses on historical and contemporary liberalism and theoretical challenges to it from both the conservative and radical traditions. Beyond the theoretical content of his courses, he is interested in exploring pedagogical approaches to teaching writing and argumentation. He has been a Senior Writing Fellow at the University of Michigan's Sweetland Writing Center and a Thomas C. Rumble Fellow (Wayne State Univerty). The broad scope of his interests has led to publications in journals ranging from Politics and Religion to the Journal of the Philosophy of Sport.
