Improving Healthcare Equity through Economically Driven Legal Reform
Throughout my career, I want to evoke change in how medical organizations support terminal patients. A patient’s diagnosis affects more than their physical well-being, as social, economic, and psychological issues arise as soon as one hears “there is no cure.” If medical organizations treated the whole person rather than just a disease, empowered and peaceful final days could be lived. Through my Organizational Studies pathway, I will examine the dynamics of medical organizations and their intersection with healthcare legislation. In doing so, I will design a unique pathway encompassing several sectors relating to healthcare policy. This, paired with my economics major, will provide a unique lens on how medical organizations influence the lives of patients and their loved ones. By graduation day, I hope to receive a well-rounded education that will serve as a foundation towards helping the US healthcare system flourish in an equitable and economically feasible manner.
My pathway is inspired by my late father, as his love, support, and enthusiasm continues to encourage me to pursue my passions in and outside of the classroom.
