About
My research interests lie in analysis, probability, and mathematical physics. I use analytic tools to study probabilistic models, among them the eigenvalues of large random matrices, the heights of randomly growing interfaces (melting, wetting, burning), directed polymers, and the longest increasing subsequence of random permutations. Such models are often exactly solvable and exhibit remarkable universal behavior. Although the questions are probabilistic, they can be approached with analytic methods: complex analysis, asymptotic analysis, and functional analysis. I am also interested in integrable differential equations, Riemann-Hilbert problems, and in applications of these models to statistics and engineering.
