Super Duper Afrofuture Bingo!

A Humanities Afrofutures Event
Thursday, February 2, 2023
11:00 AM-12:00 PM
South lounge Michigan Union Map
Come and experience a unique variation on a familiar game! Attendees will create their own bingo boards, replacing traditional bingo card numbers with images from Afrofuturist art and comics. We'll make this classic game just a bit more interactive with the help of an emergent and thought-provoking genre celebrating the Black conceptualization of how societal advancement should be undertaken, both realistically and fantastically.

There will be snacks and prizes from local African-American owned businesses, and you'll be able to take your unique bingo card home!

Presented by the Public Humanities Interns at the University of Michigan. The event is part of Humanities Afrofutures, month-long series of events at the University of Michigan bringing together scholars, artists, and activists to reexamine the past, explore critical issues in the present, and create a space for imagining possible futures.
