Professor Julia Hell presented a paper at the 2019 Modern Language Association (MLA) conference entitled "The Aesthetics of Resistance: The Pergamon Altar, the Scopic Scenarios of Neo-Roman Mimesis, and the Deep History of European Imperialism."

Hell will be teaching the 2019 DAAD Summer Seminar (June 3-28, 2019) on the topic of Fascism: Politics and Aesthetics.

She is also organizing a series of panels for the 2019 German Studies Association (GSA) on Peter Weiss's Aesthetics of Resistance in anticipation of the publication of volume II of The Aesthetics by Duke University Press in 2020.
