As part of a public university, the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures is committed to serving the public good through engagement with the wider community. We foster such engagement through a variety of public events and workshops, which are archived below. Our undergraduate and graduate course offerings, outreach, and programming prepare students to enter into public life, regardless of their degree path, as civic-minded individuals ready to contribute to their communities. In this endeavor, we take a pluralistic approach, welcoming students of all backgrounds, and thereby fostering an environment vitalized by difference.
