About
Kamahra Ewing is faculty in the Comprehensive Studies Program where she has taught for three years. She received her academic training at Michigan State University, with a Ph.D. in African American and African Studies, M.A. in American Studies, and B.A. in both Social Relations and Spanish. Her teaching and research interests include: Africana Studies, Media/Film Studies, Cultural Studies, Ethnography, and Public Policy. Her current book project and articles examine Nollywood audience reception in Brazil, Jamaica, and the United Kingdom.
She enjoys yoga, tai chi, meditation, art, vegetarian cuisine, dancing, and hiking throughout the natural landscapes of the Midwest. She loves visiting her mom in Lansing and nephews in New York. One of her favorite things to do is teach and learn from CSP students, who are beginning their academic journey in a similar program comparable to her educational start as an undergraduate student.
