...the focus on community building. I love connecting with students, and facilitating connections among students in our small language classroom. Every semester, I watch friendships form and grow among CSP students as they learn a new language, and then take those friendships outside of class.

...an immersive experience! Students in my class can expect 100% language immersion for the duration of the class period. Because this requires a great deal of concentration, my classroom is a device-free zone. While I completely understand their importance outside of class, laptops and phones compromise the immersive structure of the course and reduce opportunities to engage in the language. 

Students can also expect a safe, inclusive, accessible classroom environment. I recognize that language immersion is intimidating, and have designed the course to ensure understanding through the use of visuals, handouts, study guides, and more. Rest assured that you will be fully supported in my sections!

...to give themselves time to learn to be a college student and to find at least one person in their life that is both encouraging and truthful. Also, a “B” grade isn’t shorthand for “bad”!

...being with my husband and 4 children and to sing with my family on a music team at church. I also love interior design and landscaping. I try to plant something new in my yard every year.
