The Copernicus Center for Polish Studies is committed to supporting student engagement with Poland and Polish studies. To foster this, we offer several types of funding opportunities.
Graduate students who focus their research on Polish studies may be eligible for the Stefan Augustyniak Fellowship in Polish Studies. Current PhD and Masters in Regional and International Studies (MIRS) students apply for the award; incoming MIRS - REEES students must be nominated by the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies (CREES).

Undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, are invited to apply for Copernicus Summer Grants and Amelia Kulesa Konopka Fellowships to support research or internships in Poland, either independently-arranged or through the Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia (WCEE)’s summer Internship Initiative.

Undergraduate students currently enrolled in Polish language courses at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, are invited to apply for the John and Irene Wayne Polish Scholarship to support continued language study.
Deadline: End of first week of classes in the Winter term
Undergraduate students enrolled in the study abroad program at the University of Warsaw through U-M’s Center for Global and Intercultural Study (CGIS) are invited to apply for competitive scholarships of $5,000 from CCPS to cover the cost of flights and university lodging.
