Since 2019, six University of Michigan students have been awarded the Human Trafficking Clinic Fellowship. The recipients of this fellowship intern in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) School of Law at Clínica de Trabalho Escravo e Tráfico de Pessoas (Slave Labor and Human Trafficking Clinic) with Judge Carlos Henrique Haddad or at Polos de Cidadania and work with a community educational theatre troupe or participate in projects to promote community development, environmental sustainability, support services for the homeless, or youth empowerment through sports or cultural activities. This fellowship was created and is administered in partnership with the Program in International and Comparative Studies, Donia Human Rights Center, and the Brazil Initiative at the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (LACS).
