Consul General Kuninori Matsuda, Consulate General of Japan in Detroit

Consul General Kuninori Matsuda will provide an update on Japan’s recent political and economic developments, as well as its foreign relations and diplomatic initiatives. He will also discuss the important relationship between Michigan and Japan, the growing interdependency of their economies, Japan’s significant investment in Michigan, and the numerous cultural and academic ties enjoyed by Japan and the Wolverine State. Mr. Matsuda, in his capacity as Consul General of Japan in Detroit, seeks to advance important initiatives of the Consulate. Key among these initiatives are promoting trade and business development between Japan and the United States, and nurturing the excellent relationship enjoyed by our two countries through various educational and cultural activities and exchanges. Mr. Matsuda joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following his graduation from Tokyo University in 1982. His assignments have included: Director of Overseas Public Relations, Director of Russian Affairs and Minister at the Embassy of Japan in Israel.
