The honors program culminates with the Anthropology Honors Research Poster Symposium. At the symposium (held on the Thursday before graduation), honors students present their thesis research in a poster format, similar to posters at professional meetings. The event is attended by faculty, graduate students, family, and friends.
In 2013, the Department of Anthropology created a poster award to honor the student with the best poster. Students are judged on the content, organization, and design of their posters and on their ability to articulate information about their research to the graduate student judges. The poster award winner is announced at the Anthropology graduation ceremony.
