The Undergraduate Advisor, Thom Chivens, provides interested students with information and guidance in planning a major or minor. Upon review of the information on our majors and minors, we encourage you to meet with the Advisor in order to discuss specific courses and ways in which anthropology can contribute to your career goals.
Declaring a major or minor requires an advising appointment.
Advising appointments may be scheduled by clicking on the button below. Appointments are conducted by Zoom, phone, or in-person.
The Undergraduate Program Coordinator, Melinda Nelson, is available to answer basic advising questions by email at anthro.undergrad.program@umich.edu. Some questions require an in-person appointment, such as questions about transfer or study abroad credit or senior audit (a.k.a. major or minor release). Please schedule an appointment for these matters. Walk-in advising is available with the Undergrad Program Coordinator on Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00-10:00am in 107A WH.
