About
Dr. Natasha Turman serves as the Director for the Women in Science and Engineering Residence Program. As a natural scientist turned social scientist and critical scholar-practitioner, Dr. Turman brings to the LS&A community her commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship, transformative teaching, diverse higher education administrative experience, and her ability to mentor, support, and empower collegiate women.
Prior to joining the WISE RP, Dr. Turman served as Visiting Assistant Professor in the Student Affairs in Higher Education program at Miami University. Dr. Turman's professional experiences and scholarship cut across two distinct, yet complementary areas: gender and diversity in higher education and critical leadership education.
Dr. Turman believes that the learning environment, curricular and co-curricular, should be a space of possibility. For it is in these spaces that students discover how to become leaders who can transgress and affect change.
When she is not wearing her director hat, Dr. Turman enjoys spending time with her family, she is an avid foodie, and loves watching HGTV!
