The WISE RP celebrating ten years of impact at its annual Alumni Weekend. The event brought together past and present members of WISE RP for a day filled with insightful discussions, mentorship opportunities, and reflections on the program’s influence in shaping future STEM leaders.
The day began with opening remarks and an alumni panel at Palmer Commons, featuring WISE RP graduates who have gone on to excel in various fields, including aerospace engineering, environmental science, and medicine. Moderated by current WISE RP students Emma Gorbe (‘25) and Zandra Curley (‘27), the panelists shared their experiences navigating careers in STEM, offering valuable insights and advice to attendees.
Following lunch, students had the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions covering topics such as leadership, cultural competency, teamwork, and grit. See the full list of alumni here. Each session was designed to inspire confidence and provide attendees with strategies for overcoming challenges in their academic and professional journeys.
The event concluded with a closing ceremony at the Michigan League, where attendees were encouraged to reflect on the impact of WISE RP on their personal growth and aspirations.
