About
As a qualitative, historical researcher, Abby-Lynn Arthur Smith (she/they) studies how morality varies across time and social groups. She is particularly interested in how science and medicine serve, and are shaped by, moral goals and intuitions. She has applied this focus to a wide range of subjects, including 20th century eugenics and its legacies (in their dissertation), racialized water crises, and inaccessible infrastructure. They especially enjoy working with undergraduate students, and have taught Introduction to Sociology, Sociological Theory, and Methods.
