Science, Technology, and Society Program (STS)
What is U-M Science, Technology & Society?
Science, Technology, and Society is a vibrant, interdisciplinary field that addresses some of the most urgent challenges of modern life: How do diverse communities establish the truth? Why do experts disagree? How can we govern emerging technologies, from AI to genomics to climate mitigation, for a more equitable future?
The U-M Science, Technology, and Society Program promotes interdisciplinary education and scholarship on the social dynamics of scientific knowledge, technological change, and medical research and practice. With faculty and students from schools and departments across campus, U-M STS is distinguished by intellectual breadth and depth.
