Our 2026 program begins the weekend of May 2-3, 2026 and runs through August 7th. The first two months are intensive: students participate in accelerated spring term classes while also preparing for and beginning to intern with a community organization. In July, students shift to a primary focus on their internships while also participating in required cohort activities. Students who complete the spring program need to take two additional courses to earn a Minor in Urban Studies.
The Basics:
- Earn 9 credits toward a minor in Urban Studies
- Take classes in May & June (register for spring semester only)
- Intern part-time (8-12 hours per week) in May & June
- Increase internship to 20-30 hours per week in July
- Participate in required "cohort days" in July, expanding your knowledge of the city and working with/learning from community partners outside of your internship
