Students will be contacted in early August by UM Housing to select a move in time-slot. Keep an eye out for more details over the summer. The first day of the Fall semester is Monday, August 26.
You may request a single or a double when filling out your Housing application. We recommend having a roommate during your first year in the RC! It’s a great way to get to know more of the RC community.
RC students typically receive information about their roommate in an email to their UM account in mid-late August.
If you have not done so already, be sure to fill out your Housing application! This is a required step for all incoming first-year RC students. You do not need to indicate you are an RC student to ensure correct placement in RC community housing, as Housing and the RC work together to ensure placement for RC students. You will receive your Housing application to your UM email account.
Move-in FAQ
When is RC move-in for Fall 2024?
Move-in for all students will take place August 20-23, 2024. Your specific move-in date and individual time slot will be emailed to you by UM Housing to your UM email address. RC students can plan to move in on the first and second days of move-in and will have the option of joining in on RC welcome activities. However, if your schedule requires you to move-in later, this is still possible. Contact UM Housing after receiving your move-in timeslot for any changes.

What if I am part of a student group that moves in early, like the Michigan Marching Band or CS Kickstart?
Contact the organizers of the student group for your schedule, including move-in. UM Housing will still be communicating with you over email regarding your move-in date.
