About
Praneetha Vissapragada is a dual-PhD candidate in Political Science and Health Management and Policy. Her current research is centered on the intersection of populism, misinformation, social media, and health outcomes. She takes an intersectional approach in her research by applying theory and methods from political science and public health. In her disseration work, she examines political incentives for the sharing misinformation by political elites during the Covid-19 pandemic in the US and India. Prior to joining the PhD program, Praneetha worked in global health and global governance reseach. She holds an MPH in Health Policy and Management from Columbia University, with a concentation in Global Health.
