Ashton Butler

Ashton earned her bachelor's degree in Politics from Sewanee: The University of the South in May 2025. She is currently a first-year doctoral student at the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on ethnic studies, the political economy of development, public goods distribution, and public health crises. Regionally, she concentrates on Africa, with recent projects centered on Niger and Mali.
