Welcome to the Office of National Scholarships and Fellowships (ONSF), we're looking forward to meeting with you!
ONSF provides advising and application support for our portfolio of scholarships and fellowships. Please refer to our partner offices (e.g. the International Institute, International Center, or the Center for Global and Intercultural Study (CGIS)) for advising on other opportunities.
Advising appointments are suitable for:
Prospective Applicants: Students and alumni who are new to ONSF, and are exploring their options for scholarships and fellowships.
Current Applicants: Those applying for one or more ONSF scholarships or fellowships in the current academic year.
Debrief Sessions: Applicants or finalists who have concluded the application process who want to discuss their application, interview, selection process, or decision.

Drop-ins for Prospective Applicants are every Tuesday from 11am to 2pm.
- Conversations are first come, first serve.
- Appointments are limited to 15 minutes.
Please note that drop-in advising will not be available from 12-1pm on Tuesday, April 29th, but will be available that day from 11am-12pm and 1pm-2pm.

ONSF provides limited advising appointments for Current Applicants and Debrief Sessions every week. If you are a current applicant and have specific questions about a program in ONSF's portfolio, you may sign up for one of these appointments. Please detail which program you wish to discuss when you sign up for an appointment.

Due to the nature of scholarship application cycles, ONSF frequently experiences periods where appointment demands exceed our availability. Please:
- If you cannot make your appointment, cancel as soon as possible to allow other students the opportunity to seek advising.
- Refer to our list of scholarships and fellowships. While we may direct you to fellowships not in our portfolio, advising appointments are reserved specifically for the scholarships and fellowships we offer support for.
- Limit appointments to once per week. If you sign up for multiple appointments, all but the earliest appointment you make will be cancelled.
- Seek appointments well in advance of scholarship deadlines to ensure your needs are met.
If no appointments are available for Current Applicants or Debrief Sessions in a given week, we encourage you to reach out to our office at ONSF.info@umich.edu and we will work to accommodate your needs. Prioritiy advising is given to:
- Students and alumni who have partially or fully completed an application.
- Current nominees and semi-finalists.
- Students and alumni who are seeking a follow-up appointment.
- Former applicants seeking a debrief appointment.
Note: ONSF currently advises only LSA applicants to the Wallenberg Fellowship. Applicants outside of LSA should seek advising from their school/college’s Wallenberg Fellowship Campus Contact.
