This interdisciplinary conference explores the intersections of feminism and sinology in all their current forms. Topics covered include historical gender formations in sinological studies, the gender politics of sinological discourse, Chinese feminist poetics, writing/translation/textuality, alternative Chinese modernities, the Cultural Revolution, the role of mediation in Chinese feminism, the gender landscape of contemporary China, transnational Chinese gender constructions, and the future of Chinese feminisms.
