ASC associates receive Humanities Collaboratory grant for project on the intersections of social memory, revolutionary activism, and anti-black racism in Nubia
Narrating Nubia: The Social Lives of Heritage combines archaeology and ethnography to ask how the complex interplay of past and present shapes Nubian futures within conditions of their ongoing displacement, injury, and marginalization. The team will create with Nubian intellectuals, artists, activists and community members in Egypt and Sudan films, exhibits, walking tours, oral archives, podcasts, and participatory pedagogical materials.
