About
Miriam coordinates the Leadership Certificate Program in collaboration with the BLI and M-LEAD.
Miriam’s passion for working with incredible student leaders began with her involvement at Hope College’s TRIO Upward Bound program during and following her undergraduate studies. She believes strongly in the power of community, connection, and universal access in educational spaces, and is delighted to join the BLI and M-LEAD in promoting those values. Miriam holds a degree in French and History Education, and joined the BLI following seven years of teaching secondary students—one year in Munster, France, and six at Washtenaw International High School in Ypsilanti.
In her free time, Miriam can often be found traveling, tap dancing, attending or performing in musicals, nerding out over fantasy books, and/or watching baseball (Go Tigers!).
