Phase 3: Advanced Leadership Fellows

The Mindful Leader Fellowship:

The Mindful Leader fellowship is a six-month, paid contemplative practices opportunity to comprehensively explore the potential of mindfulness and the principles of dignity to transform how we both think about and practice leadership.

Capstone Experience:

This program cultivates evidence-based leadership by supporting Advanced Leadership Fellows as they pursue significant collaborative projects whose design, implementation, and evaluation requires substantial analytic work. The Capstone experience brings abstract skills learned in the classroom to real-world applications as students design research and project implementation plans, conduct research and analysis on relevant data, and bring their project visions to life. Application opens in January.

The Student Leadership Positions below are paid positions available within the BLI that allow students to practice leadership in the context of Institute programs.

Peer Facilitators:

Peer Facilitators (PFs) lead the ALA Leadership Lab and ALA Foundations in Leadership courses. Members must take one of the BLI ALA courses in order to become Leadership Fellows. PFs participate in designing course content, lead discussions, answer any questions that groups may have, and offer support to student project teams.

Program Assistants:

Program Assistants (PAs) serve as a liaison between program staff and students, and ensure student-integration into almost all operational aspects of the BLI organization. PA responsibilities include advising students with funding, community engagement and outreach, marketing and communications, recruitment efforts, and planning and executing community events.
