Applied Leadership Fellow, CORE Team
About
Hamad is a first-generation college student and senior at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, studying Community & Global Public Health with a minor in Intergroup Relations. His interests include community engagement, mental health advocacy, and using leadership to create positive change and build more supportive communities.
Hamad is involved in several leadership and community-focused opportunities at Michigan, including the Mental Health Advocacy Institute through Active Minds, serving as a Public Humanities Intern, and serving as a Global Engagement Fellow through the Global Scholars Program. He also serves as the President of the North Quad Multicultural Council and is a member of Cohort 5 of BLI’s Leadership Certificate program.
Through BLI, Hamad studied abroad in Japan this past May, exploring leadership, peace, mindfulness, and cross-cultural understanding. Over the summer, he completed a BLI-supported internship with Trinity Health’s Community Health & Well-Being team. Hamad is most excited about continuing to grow as a leader through his first year as an Applied Leadership Fellow, contributing to the BLI community, and building meaningful connections along the way.
