Doctoral Student, Greek and Roman History
About
Sierra received her BA in Classical Studies with a concentration in Latin cum laude in the spring of 2018 from Wayne State University in Detroit. Her senior Writing Intensive examines the parallels between the pietas of Aeneas and the perceived impietas of Dido in Book IV of Vergil’s Aeneid. Although she focused primarily on Augustan Era poetry as an undergraduate, Sierra is interested in exploring the topics of Roman religion, magic, and astrology while also researching the reception of Classics by African Americans in the 20th Century.
