Ph.D. in Ancient History
About
Noah studied ancient history at UCL (BA) and Oxford (MPhil) followed by a year at the Warburg Institute. He works on the cultural and intellectual history of late antiquity, with a particular interest in taxonomies of fantastical creatures as expressions of religious identity and conflict. For similar reasons he is enthusiastic about urban memory, topography, and ‘Christianisation’ at Rome during this period. Besides these areas Noah hopes to expand into new fields, such as archaeology and environmental history, whilst pursuing a doctorate at Michigan.
