John Campbell, Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Michigan, presents "Trying to Figure Out Japan for 50 Years."

Campbell served as director of the U-M Center for Japanese Studies from 1982 to 1987. He received the Order of the Rising Sun (Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon) from the Japanese government in 2019. Campbell studies the relationship between politics and substantive public policy in Japan.
